We are currently in pre-production for our newest course, a cinema studies course on film genres and Jewish philosophy and teachings. Each class will investigate a different film genre, juxtaposing it with ancient Jewish texts. These texts offer a unique perspective on common themes, characters, story lines and even the genres themselves.

Interviewees for this current course include filmmakers, film critics, rabbis, and academics. Already onboard are: actor Elliot Gould (Friends, Oceans 11), House MD creator and executive producer David Shore, 24 executive producer Howard Gordon, Hairspray and 17 Again producer Jennifer Gibgot, and Tropic Thunder writer Etan Cohen, CNN film critic Michael Medved, The Hollywood Reporter film critic Stephen Farber, UCLA film professors Vincent Brook and Jonathan Kuntz, and AFI film professor Bary Sabath.
